This is a way to insure that sites like google and yahoo place your site toward the top of searches under specific key words. It is not cheap to find someone who is good at this. My company charges >10,000 for 5 key words. We are a Business to business designer so no need to advertise myself here.

I am looking for some rule-of-thumb information for expectable advertising revenues for a consumer-oriented, medical website. Banner advertising can be quite well-targetted within the site. Advertisers will include pharmaceutical companies, medical product companies, hospitals, other medical facilities, physicians, and health insurers and related health financing companies. I’m looking to get a rule of thumb approximation of expectable advertising revenue per user or per visit perhaps with a low-medium-high range, as different sites will of course be able to charge higher rates than others.

on the flip side, a program like nielsen galaxy adviews can tell you how much competitors are spending for internet advertising.

Guerilla marketing, colloquially known as Gorilla marketing, is a cost effective marketing technique which relies on simple but effective advertising methods that entice potential customers to purchase a particular product/service. It is in essence, personalized advertising aimed at capturing the heart of the consumer.

Gorilla marketing came into being in 1984 and was popularized by Conrad Levinson. It is a non-traditional system of promotions that rely mainly on time, effort and imagination to achieve its ends. Gorilla marketing techniques are carried out at unusual locations and tend to use unconventional methods that are targeted to create an interest and a marketing buzz amongst its potential customer base.

Originally, gorilla marketing techniques were adopted by small or medium sized companies, as it relied mainly on word-of-mouth marketing which required little financial input. However, now large companies too have come to realize its benefits, and are incorporating similar marketing strategies, with some success.

To successfully implement a gorilla marketing strategy, companies need to know their customers requirements, for which close interaction and relationship marketing techniques can be used effectively. Versatility is also a much required attribute when making such a venture a profitable one.

Unlike more conventional methods, gorilla marketing places less emphasis on experience, and gives higher priority to human psychology instead. It promotes co-operation between rival businesses which hitherto promised only competition. It also encourages relationship building. Here, increasing the number and size of transactions with existing customers is given higher priority than contracting new sales.

Gorilla marketing generally functions with the end in mind. For instance, its measure of success is gauged by the increase in profits and not merely by the increase in sales. It uses technology to its best advantage, and focuses on a few key products that keep to its promised specifications.

Marketing via social networks, grass-root marketing and even graffiti are sometimes closely related to gorilla marketing. Sometimes the imagery used in these promotions has little bearing on the product itself, as it is aimed mainly at arousing curiosity, which is later converted to information directly related to the product or service in question.

Gorilla marketing techniques are now being effectively put to use by many who practice affiliate marketing. Creativity, imagination and having what is popularly referred to as the human touch are the corner stones of its success. As gorilla marketing uses minimal resources to reap maximum profitability, its popularity will not diminish any time soon.
